When I was in Elementary School (grade 4 or 5) I started getting these random attacks of intense pain & vomiting, making it impossible to do anything during these attacks. My parents took me to my family doctor and he suspected constipation and suggested that I needed more fiber. Sooo I was given fiber cookies and pills, and at one point remember being giving me a suppository... I'm shuttering as I remember back to that experience Ha-Ha. After dealing with this for 1-2 years, with the wrong diagnosis an attack happened well I was at a sleepover with my friend. I ended up being taken to the children's hospital and found out my appendix was leaking and all these attacks were from appendicitis, I had to go into emergency surgery right away to get it removed or risk death.
I wanted to share my story because I have never met another person who has experienced Chronic Appendicitis, and going through it for that long was torture. I hope if someone else is experiencing similar symptoms, they know it's possible and should push to have their appendix examined.
I also have endometriosis that was diagnosed many years later and at times I wonder if there is any correlation between the two. It seems so many woman I talk to with endo have also had appendicitis. If you have endometriosis and experienced appendicitis please comment/reach out, I would love to know your story.
