Perks of Being a Calgarian: Unlock Free Learning with your Calgary Public Library Card

Did you know that your Calgary Public Library card is more powerful than you think? I recently discovered that it gives you free access to LinkedIn Learning—a hidden gem of online courses and resources that can help you up-skill, grow your career, or even explore new hobbies.

What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning is an online education platform with thousands of courses taught by industry experts. Whether you're looking to boost your productivity, dive into digital marketing, improve your design skills, or learn coding, there's something for everyone. The best part? These courses typically require a paid subscription, but as a Calgary Public Library cardholder, you can access them at no cost!

How to Access LinkedIn Learning for Free

Getting started is super easy:

  1. Get a Calgary Public Library Card – If you don’t have one yet, sign up online or visit your nearest branch.

  2. Go to the Library’s LinkedIn Learning Page – Visit the Calgary Public Library website and look for the LinkedIn Learning section.

  3. Log In with Your Library Card – Enter your library card number and PIN to gain full access to thousands of courses.

Why This is a Game Changer

  • No Cost: Upskill without spending a dime. LinkedIn learning is typically costly.

  • Flexible Learning: Learn at your own pace, anytime, anywhere.

  • Wide Range of Topics: From career development and business strategy to creative pursuits like photography and animation, there’s something for everyone.

  • Boost Your Resume: Many courses offer completion certificates that you can add to your LinkedIn profile. Since it's through the library, course certificates do not have your name on them you will have to manually add them to your linked in account. This is just a little added step but still super nice since it's free learning!

If you live in Calgary, don’t miss out on this incredible resource. Happy learning!
